Steve Evans previews the match with Sheffield Wednesday...

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans confirmed his only concern ahead of the South Yorkshire derby with Sheffield Wednesday is the fitness of defender Kari Arnason.

Evans revealed yesterday that the Icelandic International was suffering from a toe injury and not from the facial injury which forced him off at Reading on Tuesday night.

“His face is fine but he stubbed his toe quite badly in the first half,” confirmed Evans.

“It was a courageous challenge from Arnie, a great block on the edge of the box. We are a little worried about him but we will see how we go.”

Striker Alex Revell was a doubt ahead of the game at The Madjeski Stadium but started the match with Evans admitting he wasn’t 100% for the game, but will be fully fit for the derby clash at Hillsborough.

“He will be (100%) for Saturday that is for sure. We love the big man to bits; he’ll always be a big part of a Steve Evans team,” added the Millers boss.

The only other injury casualty in recent games is full-back Richard Brindley but Evans admitted he could be available for the weekend.

“He is a possibility. Whether we would bring him straight in? I’ll need time to think that one through, but I’ve brought him straight in before and he has done really well.”

There is a full big match preview on Millers Player now.
