Huddersfield Town fan David Scholefield [CORR]has been named the Sky Bet Championship Fan of the Month for October.
David has set up a Huddersfield Town fan group that aims to improve the atmosphere inside the stadium on match day.
The group is called ‘North Stand Loyal’ and means that an average of 800 fans come together in the North Stand to cheer on the Terriers each week.
David said: “We have far exceeded my expectations from when I set up the group!
“The Chairman has shown an interest as well as other clubs that want to start a similar group within their grounds.
“Most importantly though – our own fans have shown support and we have received over £2,000 in donations to allow us to produce NSL branded flags and clothing.”
Huddersfield midfielder Harry Bunn said: “The ‘North Stand Loyal’ movement has made a real difference to the atmosphere at the John Smith’s Stadium during our home games.
“There’s a great noise that comes from behind the goal at the north end and it’s very colourful thanks to all the flags and banners that fans bring.
“I understand that Dave is one of the main reasons that stand has been so eye-catching this season, so he thoroughly deserves his ‘Fan of the Month’ award!”
