Academy 0 v 0 Grimsby - Report

2 November 2014

Academy Manager Garreth Barker watched his side record a clean sheet as the Millers drew 0-0 with Grimsby Town.

Barker admitted afterwards that he was happy with the clean sheet but after creating some good opportunities he felt his side deserved more.

“It wasn’t a bad performance but I felt we should have won the game,” he said.

“We had a couple of players in the side on trial and sometimes when that happens it is difficult for them to understand the way we play and what we are trying to achieve. That only comes when you play with others week in, week out.

“We lost our captain Alex Wiles through injury during the game which didn’t help our cause either.

“We created three really good chances and two of which fell to Jerry Yates who would normally put them away, but it was a positive that we kept a clean sheet.”

Team: Denton; Bailey, Hallatt, Peace-McDonald, Warren, Brown, Wiles, Fenton, Gibson, Yates, Massey.

Subs: Bilboe, Muskwe, Smalley, Potts, Rose.
