Steve Evans talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans has praised the response of the Millers supporters after a surge in Wembley ticket sales.
There has been a huge response over the past 48 hours but with the deadline now firmly on the horizon for those who have yet to purchase their tickets, the manager has called on those yet to buy to beat the deadline ahead of the showdown with Leyton Orient this Sunday.
Tickets will be taken OFF sale at 8pm tomorrow (Thursday 22nd May).
“There has been a terrific response from our supporters and I expected nothing less,” Evans told www.themillers.co.uk
“Since the victory over Preston in the second leg there has been a real positivity around the town that has surpassed anything I have known previously. I have never had so many people approach me wishing the team luck for Sunday, and it has been touching to know how much this means to the borough of Rotherham."
Tickets continue to sell well for the game, which could see the Millers seal back-to-back promotions and clinch a place in the Championship, and Evans is once again hoping to see a sea of red like the one at New York Stadium in the semi-final that helped the Millers reach the end of season showdown, and he was also quick to remind supporters about the grand depart from the stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“The deadline for tickets is fast approaching and there are still tickets available to buy, it would be fantastic if we could take as many Millers fans as possible and create a sea of red Millers shirts around Wembley," he added.
“Remember we are leaving for Wembley at 2pm on Saturday so if you could give us a fantastic send-off it would give the players a huge boost ahead of the big game.
“Every man, woman, boy and girl, we need you on Sunday more than ever.
“The prize is Championship football.”
