Once again Rotherham United Community Sports Trust have donated a signed shirt in aid of charity.
The Trust have been working with Swallownest Care Home for the past 2 years delivering weekly exercise classes to the residents.Trish Shaw, Care Assistant at Swallownest Care Home, sadly lost her mum Florence Longden to cancer around 18 months ago. Since then, Trish has been organising various charity events in order to raise money for Weston Park Cancer Hospital. She has run events such as a sky dive, Asda bag pack, night out in pyjamas and many more. So far Trish has raised a huge £7300!
Trish also organised a charity night last year and following on its success, she is running the night again this year. The charity night will be taking place on Saturday 31st May at Swallownest Miners Welfare Club, Rotherham Rd, Swallownest, Sheffield, S26 4UR from 7:30pm and is open to anyone so feel free to pop in! The charity night will consist of a karaoke, disco, raffle and an auction. The signed Rotherham United shirt (donated by RUCST) will be auctioned off as well as many other exciting things to bid for.
Trish said “We are never going to be able to give back to Weston Park Cancer Hospital for what they did for my mum. They go above and beyond!”
