On Wednesday 26th February, the Mature Millers Walking Football team invited chesterfield to take part in a mini 5 a side tournament.Both the mature millers and chesterfield both entered 2 teams. The games were 6 minutes long and were played inside at Rotherham Leisure Complex.
Before the games took place the mayor Cllr john Foden attended to meet the teams and find out more about walking football.
The games were very competitive and some great goals were scored with Chesterfield B team winning the competition overall.
Sean Graves, Disability Coordinator said “This is the 2nd time the Mature Millers have played chesterfield and we hope for the link to continue. I would like to thank chesterfield attending the event.”
RUFC mature millers are currently running session every Wednesday at Rotherham Leisure complex 12.30pm-2.00pm alternating between walking football and cricket.
