Seventeen-year-old Jack Pitchford receives his Parkgate/RUCST Apprentice of the Year Award from Denis Copeland, Manager of Parkgate Shopping during Rotherham United’s top of the table clash with Brentford at New York Stadium in Rotherham.

Also in view are Jack’s parents, Mark Pitchford, Mandy Pitchford Billy Smith, Head of Community Jamie Noble and Tony Stewart.

17-year old Jack, from Wickersley, was chosen for his outstanding performance, confident personality and willingness to undertake all tasks with enthusiasm and determination.

Billy Smith, Operations Manager at Parkgate, said:   “Jack  now joins a very select group of young people who have proved over a long period of training and assessment that they possess exceptional personal qualities as well as the ability to become sports coaches. I am particularly pleased that he and his parents were able to join us at New York Stadium to celebrate his achievements.”

Jack’s evening was made even more memorable as his beloved Millers went on to beat high flying Brentford 3-0.
