On 22nd July a NCS Inclusion Day was held at Rotherham Indoor Football Centre.
On 22nd July a NCS Inclusion Day was held at Rotherham Indoor Football Centre where children of all backgrounds in Rotherham were invited to take part in a range of activities, bringing them together through sport.The day involved Andy Warrington’s new Futsal team, who are due to start in September, throughout the morning, who were later joined by previous NCS participants in the afternoon for a warmer session aimed at maintaining interest in the NCS programme.
The children participated in a football tournament, where five teams battled it out against each other. Despite all players giving it their all, the red team deserve a congratulations who came out on top, winning every match. After an exhilarating tournament, a boxercise session was held where the participants learnt plenty of boxing moves, in a fun and easy way for all abilities. But the fun did not end there, the participants were then invited to take part in circuit training, consisting of a range of core exercises, by the end of which the participants were exhausted after a fun-filled active day.
Overall the day was a great success, with the participants expressing their positive feedback for the Inclusion day and the NCS programme overall.
Lucy, a previous NCS participant mentioned how the programme was a once in a life time experience, allowing her to overcome her fears. Friends Victoria and Yasmine added to this, mentioning how NCS was a wonderful opportunity where they gained the chance to meet new people, in addition to exposure to new experiences where they could learn new things which they do not get the chance to learn in school.
