Development Squad to integrate with first-team members...

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans says it will be a ‘mixed’ squad that faces Queen of the South in Dumfries tomorrow afternoon.

Several of the squad who were unused from the bench this evening will join a number of Development Squad players to take on the Doonhamers at Palmerston Park due to the current first team crop carrying niggles.

“We’ve had a couple of niggles, and two people who we’ve excused for family reasons ” Steve Evans told www.themillers.co.uk “With another synthetic surface like we’ve played on tonight it made the decision slightly easier to rest a couple tomorrow who are wanting to play but I’ve just had to put the reigns on them slightly.”

“So we’ll bring a couple of the players up from the Development Squad and give them a chance to get some minutes on the pitch; the lads who have picked up knocks will return for Forest which is a big game on Wednesday, and then definitely be back involved for our game next Saturday.”

The team have now played two pre-season friendlies as well as a behind closed doors game against Kilmarnock and with just the one game in the Lowlands left, the Millers boss has been pleased with the past nine days.

“Overall I’m pleased with the trip and all the boys worked hard again this morning before putting a good shift in this evening, so whilst I’m very happy with the trip overall, I’m satisfied with the game tonight.”
