Paul Green talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

New signing Paul Green believes the Millers have what it takes to be a force in The Championship next season.

The Republic of Ireland International is one of 11 new faces who are currently on a pre-season tour of Scotland preparing for the upcoming campaign.

The Millers are preparing for their second game of their tour north of the border after a 1-0 victory over Greenock Morton at Cappielow Park on Saturday. Falkirk are next up for Steve Evans’ side as preparations continue at pace for Championship season which commences on August 9th.

Green who holds a wealth of experience at Championship level believes his new club has what it takes to become a success in English football’s second tier.

“There are no easy games in this league whatsoever and on your day anyone can beat each other,” Green told www.themillers.co.uk

“I would expect exactly the same this year but we are well equipped, pre-season is going well and I’m sure we’ll surprise a few teams.”

Due to his International commitments with the Republic of Ireland Green started his pre-season schedule a week after the majority of his team mates, but he is now well into his preparations for the new campaign and admits he is thriving on the challenge.

“I am really pleased to be back into pre-season after the extra week I had off,” adds the former Derby and Leeds playmaker.

“I am really enjoying it, there is plenty more hard work to put in before the start of the season but I am feeling good.

“The Gaffer told me when I signed that there were a good set of lads here and he wasn’t lying. They are a good group; there is a togetherness and spirit about the place which will be vital for the season ahead.”

The Millers play Falkirk this Friday, kick off 7.30pm, before rounding off the tour with a game with Queen of the South on Saturday 19th July, kick off 3pm.
