New signing Wes Thomas talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

New signing Wes Thomas admitted he wants to help fire the Millers to promotion after signing from Championship side Bournemouth this morning.

The striker penned a deal until the end of the season and moved to the Millers for an undisclosed fee.

The former Cheltenham hitman joined up with his new teammates for his first training session at Parkgate today, and has now re-united with boss Steve Evans who signed him for Crawley Town.

“I am delighted to sign for Rotherham United,” he told www.themillers.co.uk

“It is a good club, they are doing well in the league and I am just looking forward to getting started and hopefully getting some goals.

“The move came about quite quickly. I had a call from my agent to say that Rotherham were interested and I then made an easy decision to come and sign.

“I came down and signed this morning before training and had a quick look at the stadium. It looks like a great place to play football and hopefully I can score a lot of goals here.”

The 26-year-old has penned a deal until the end of the season but admits that staying longer could be an option.

“Obviously staying longer is a possibility, but in the short-term I am just happy to be here and I want to get started and score some goals. Hopefully I can impress and help the team get promoted,” added the former Blackpool and Birmingham loanee.

Thomas arrives at New York with at least one familiar face in the camp, with former club mate from Bournemouth Miles Addison already with Millers after signing on loan from the Cherries last week.

“I spoke to Miles and he had good things to say,” concluded Wes. “He told me that it was a good club and I look forward to linking up with him and my new team mates today.”
