Tom Hitchcock talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

New signing Tom Hitchcock couldn’t have asked for a better start to his Millers career if he is selected for his debut tomorrow.

Hitchcock started the week training with tomorrow’s opponents Crewe Alexandra but following the culmination of his loan at Gresty Road, he could be lining-up against his former team mates for his Rotherham bow tomorrow afternoon.

The QPR hotshot impressed during his stay with The Alex, bagging a goal in every other game, and he is hoping to take that kind of form into his loan spell with the Millers, however he admits it will be strange to come up against his former comrades so soon.

“It will be weird to come up against them but that is what can happen with football,” admitted the 21-year-old.

“Crewe were in talks with my agent but Rotherham were interested and I felt it was for me.

“They (Crewe) are a good team; they are battling down there so I expect them to come out all guns blazing tomorrow afternoon.”

It won’t be Hitchcock’s first experience of New York Stadium if he gets the nod for the game tomorrow. Some fans may remember him playing against the Millers in the blue of Bristol Rovers in a league game last season.

“I played at the stadium once before last season when I was with Bristol Rovers on loan,” added Tom.

“It is a nice stadium and I am looking forward to playing there again. I am also looking forward to be playing in League One still and hopefully I can prove a point and score some goals.”

There is a full interview with Tom on Millers Player now.
