Gaffer wants more new faces at Rotherham United...
Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has confirmed that the Millers have two bids on the table for two separate players as the January transfer window enters its final week.
With just seven days to go until the 11pm deadline on Friday 31st January, the Millers have been busy, recruiting five new faces in the window and allowing a handful to either leave on loan or extend current temporary moves away from the club.
However, should there be no movement, it’s not a concern for the Millers boss who believes his squad are in a better position than at the start of the month.
“We’ve got two bids on the table for two players which will probably now run from the end of this week through to next week because of the order of events. Maybe they’ll be accepted, maybe they won’t because it depends on how those clubs get on with their recruitment of players further up the pyramid which we have to accept. It’s a pecking order we’re in, but other than those two these eyes aren’t wandering too far because I’m pleased with where we are. Are we stronger than we were at the start of January? By a country mile!
“There could be one or two who leave on loan,” Evans added hesitantly. “I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s nobody leaving our current squad of players though and I certainly won’t be pushing anybody out of the door. We’ve got a solid squad and we’ll be ready to go for the crucial time of the season.”
