Steve Evans talks to

The January transfer window is open and Millers boss Steve Evans has confirmed he is working on a number of deals for players in and out of New York Stadium.

The Millers, who currently sit in sixth position in League One, have a free weekend from competitive action due to the FA Cup, but Evans will use the time to fine tune his squad to help keep the Millers in the promotion hunt.

“The window is open and we are close with one or two deals,” Evans told

“I can’t say too much about what is happening at the moment but as soon as anything is confirmed I will let the fans know. It promises to be a busy couple of days.”

Evans recently extended the loan deals of Newcastle duo James Tavernier and Haris Vuckic who penned deals until the end of January.
