New loanee ready for action...

Rotherham United’s newest addition Blair Turgott is looking to continue the Millers’ good standing in the league, after joining them as they occupy the third play off position.

Turgott, an England youth international joined the Millers just over 24 hours prior to the trip to Shrewsbury and the winger explained the late night journey that brought him to South Yorkshire.

“I left the West Ham training ground at about 4 o’clock, got home, packed my bags and got out on the road,” Blair told Millers Player on Friday morning. “I don’t know a lot about Rotherham but I know that they got promoted with Bradford last season of course. I did some research after my Development Manager told me there was interest and they were doing well. They’ve got some good wins and I just want to keep that run going.”

Turgott has previous League One experience from a loan spell at Colchester United, and last season played a part in both legs as Bradford City beat Aston Villa in the semi-final of the Capital One Cup. However, with the next chapter of his career to take place at New York Stadium, he has been told to grab the opportunity with both hands.

“As soon as I got in I spoke to him (Steve Evans) this morning and he just introduced me and made me feel really welcome so now I’m just looking forward to it. Everyone at West Ham was saying they think it’s going to be a really good experience for me and it’s an opportunity I can thrive off so just get on the pitch and show what I can do.”
