Feelgood factor at New York Stadium...

Steve Evans has praised the character of the squad at Rotherham United, highlighting the sense of pride that is running through the current crop of players as they currently sit fifth in League One.

The Millers have lost just one game in 2014, and with a significant turnaround in players in January, the Millers boss believes his squad’s togetherness reflects the feelgood nature at New York Stadium at present.

“They’re such a special group of players to work with and they come in with smiles on their faces, they embrace playing here and it’s taken 18 months or whatever to put together a team who all want to be here on a journey that’s still only a third of the way through. We had a little game in training on Wednesday and the quality was excellent.”

It isn’t only the players who will cross the white line at New York tomorrow who are impressing the Millers manager either, with the Pauls, Warne and Raynor also upping their performance levels.

“Everyone’s upping their game, I saw Paul Raynor and Paul Warne join in doing the relays the other day, although Rayns pulled out after three and Warney is probably still going.”
