Craig Morgan and Rob Milsom available...

Steve Evans has seen his Rotherham United squad boosted with the return to fitness of Rob Milsom and Craig Morgan.

The duo who missed out on the last Saturday’s late victory over Leyton Orient have both been declared fit by the Millers boss to make the journey south to Colchester.

“Rob’s good, he’s trained and we’re happy with him to travel,” Evans said. “(Craig) has taken part in most of training this week, well he’s played a part in it all really. I can’t pay him any bigger compliments for his effort. It might take another game just to satisfy us that he’s ready and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him lead us out onto the pitch at Colchester, but it also wouldn’t surprise me to see him up in the stand with a big jacket on. I’ll speak to the staff and between us, me, Rayns and Warney we’ll decide what role he’ll play at the weekend.”

Morgan has been missing since the New Year’s Day defeat to Coventry City after a piece of floating bone on his foot was found whilst serving his suspension, but Evans has paid his skipper credit for the work that has seen him race back to fitness quicker than expected.

“He’s about 10 days ahead of original schedule which is credit to his fitness levels and Denis Circuit and the medical team who have worked him hard. I’ve said it before but he’s in the best shape he’s ever been in his career.”

Saturday's game at the West Homes Community Stadium is subject to an 8.30am pitch inspection.
