Millers stretch run to three games...

Rotherham United’s Youth Team stretched their unbeaten run to three games with a 0-0 draw at Hull City.

The Millers, who included Daniel Rowe in a rare outing for the Academy this season put in a fine performance against a side who claimed a narrow victory against them back in September.

“I thought it was probably our best performance of the season,” Sheron told Millers Matchday. “We’ve had a few really good performances, particularly in the Youth Cup but in terms of the week-to-week games I thought it was right up there and in the end I was disappointed not to come away with a win.

After a run of games over the winter that saw the Millers concede 22 goals in 6 games they have now kept two clean sheets from their previous three games with only Burton Albion managing a solitary goal in that time.

“It’s something we’ve been working on because some of these lads have got some real ability, but the organisation and resiliency needed to be there to keep a clean sheet. They’ve responded well to what we’re trying to achieve and what we’re trying to build on a daily basis.

“It was a strong side for us, it’s always a boost when we’ve got Danny Rowe playing because I think he enthuses everyone else and I thought overall it was a good performance not only as a team but there were also seven or eight players who had their best game of the season. It’s hard to single anyone out but full credit must also go to our goalkeeper Charlie Bryan who made three great saves after half-time.”

Millers: Bryan, Lucas (Wiles 80), Rowe, Wigley, Hallatt, Johnson (Warren 45), Cadman, Williamson, Yates, Bell (Trialist 75), Bevins.
Unused: Fenton, Norfolk.
