Rotherham United's Academy try their hand at Boxing...

The Rotherham United Academy are experimenting with Boxing lessons as part of their weekly training plan.

Academy Manager Garreth Barker has already started to look into possibility of incorporating the sport after some successful sessions at a local gym.

There is also the possibility of linking up with former Millers midfielder and now professional boxer Curtis Woodhouse, whose son has recently signed for the Millers Academy.

“We have had a couple of sessions at I-motion gym in Rotherham and the lads seemed to really enjoy themselves,” Barker told www.themillers.co.uk

“We are going to continue to look into it and try and see if it is beneficial for the lads. We think that the change of environment and something different in their training schedule will be positive for the lads.

“We recently spoke to Curtis Woodhouse, whose son has just signed with us, and there maybe the possibility of doing some work with him too.”
