Millers raise awareness for campaign...
Rotherham United were proud to support the White Ribbon campaign at the recent home fixture against Nottingham Forest, with men making a statement against violence.
Members of the Community Sports trust were on hand around the stadium to help raise awareness for the campaign which sees men pledge to stand up and end violence towards women and other men. They then paraded a special banner around the AESSEAL New York Stadium and were pictured with it at the pre-match captains photograph.
The Millers first team players wore special white ribbon t-shirts in the warm-up to help promote the campaign, whilst the management team, staff and directors sported white ribbon pin badges.
“I was delighted with the success of the event,” Head of Community Jamie Noble said afterwards. “This is a campaign we’re extremely proud to support and one that I believe deserves plenty of attention. Violence towards men and women is an issue that we want to help prevent, and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in helping us promote it by signing pledges and wearing the Real Man t-shirt.”
