The Trust recently held the summer NCS programme with 240 participants.NCS provides 15 to 17 year olds living in England and Northern Ireland the opportunity to build unforgettable memories, forge long lasting relationships, and develop a range of skills that are not available within the classroom. The programme is built around the theme, “It all starts at yes”. The programme is designed to grow your confidence, make UCAS applications stand out, build friendship, develop employability skills to enhance your CV, and have access to exclusive events.
The programme takes place outside of term time in spring, summer and autumn.
This summer 240 residents of Rotherham participated within the NCS programme at Rotherham United Community Sport Trust. The programme included several social action events such as the Garden Project for Reema Unity Centre Nursery. These events allowed participants to develop team building and leadership skills, while also developing an appreciation of volunteering for a good cause.
Chantelle, Team leader said: “The NCS programme created the opportunity to improve my confidence, while advising young people to kick start their future and embrace the experiences of NCS.”
At the end of the programme, graduates are treated to a big party to celebrate their achievements. However, the graduates NCS experiences are not finish at the end of the programme. The amazing experience encountered throughout the programme has enthuse many participants to sign up for larger roles within the programme.
