Rotherham United Community Sports Trust, in association with KGB productions, have launched a short film produced by young people from Brinsworth and Winterhill School.
The film titled ‘Rotherham Our Town’ was given its first screening in front of VIP guests and the two schools at the New York Stadium earlier this month. The film focuses on people’s perceptions of the town, with young people producing the film themselves from the filming to the editing process and then the voiceovers. The project aimed to foster a greater understanding of community as a concept whilst also learning vital film making and interview skills.Mused Salem who worked on the programme commented “The pupils have got really engaged with the workshops and film making, it has been a really exciting project that has now come to completion after 6 months of varied activities, I would like to thank Ken George from KGB production for teaching such vital skills to our young people and I am sure the legacy of the project will live on with the DVD which will be shown in the Trusts wider equality work.”
