Young supporters get to meet their heroes...
A selection of Rotherham United stars were on hand at Parkgate Shopping today to get up close and personal with the Millers supporters.
As the summer holidays draw to a close, young fans were given the opportunity to meet their idols at Frankie & Benny’s as four of last year’s Wembley heroes were joined by two more summer recruits to give the legions of supporters that turned up a morning to remember.
The fans were able to meet Scott Loach and Matt Derbyshire for their first public signing session before the returning Richie Smallwood and Lee Frecklington posed for pictures, and the two Wembley stars Alex Revell and Adam Collin completed the line-up in one of a number of events in association with the long-running official home shirt sponsor.
“It was a great morning for everyone involved,” said Commercial Director Steve Coakley. “There was a great turnout at Parkgate this morning and everyone left with a smile on their face. It gives the players a chance to interact with the supporters, and those who spend their hard-earned money watching them every week, whilst for the young fans who attended; they will leave with photographs and memories that will stay with them for a long time.”
