Mayor visits Henley

26 August 2014

Sponsored by

On Friday 22nd August, Mayor John Foden and Lady Mayoress Kath Foden attended the Teenage Kicks Children in Need session at Henley Community Centre.

At the beginning of August we run a week long programme at Henley and since then we have been delivering health sessions every Friday from 11am-1pm. Sessions consist of a variety of health topics including healthy eating, smoking and alcohol awareness, physical activity and arts and crafts.  Councillor Kath Simms also made an appearance at the session.

When the Mayor and Mayoress attended Henley, they tasted the smoothies which the participants had freshly made and they also took part in the fun and games. Henley Community group also put on a buffet with homemade cakes and buns for the occasion.

Emma Harrison Health and Wellbeing Officer said “I have thoroughly enjoyed both the summer and evening sessions at Henley, it was really nice for the Mayor and Mayoress to visit and the participants were thrilled to meet them!”
