World Cup referee excited by New York fixture...

Rotherham United Ambassador Howard Webb is looking forward to tomorrow night’s England v Germany Under 18 international at New York Stadium.

Professional referee Webb, who officiated the 2010 World Cup final believes this is a chance to see youngsters of both nations, who could go on to become stars of the future, with the added spice of the old England, Germany rivalry meaning an exciting game should be in prospect.

“It’s fantastic for Rotherham Football Club and the supporters that such a prestigious game is being held here. It will be an opportunity to see the stars of the future for both England and Germany, in a game which at every level of football has always meant so much to both nations.

“These games at any level are always hugely entertaining affairs so let’s hope this game is no different. I’m sure the town will come out and get behind the team on the night. I know how proud the club was to host the England Women’s team last year and this is another great coup for Rotherham and the fans.”
