Stewart looking forward to crucial trio...

Chairman Tony Stewart is looking ahead to an exciting triple header of fixtures starting with tonight’s mouth-watering derby clash with Sheffield United.

The Millers take on the Blades this evening looking to close the gap on second-placed Brentford after securing a play-off berth at the weekend with a dramatic 4-3 success against Gillingham at Priestfield.

Following the encounter with their South Yorkshire neighbours, the Millers then host Bradford City for another Yorkshire derby in front of a worldwide TV audience at New York Stadium for the first time.

New York Stadium then hosts one of the world’s fiercest rivalries when on Wednesday 16th April England face Germany for an under 18s International (kick off 7.30pm).

April looks set to be a thrilling month for the Millers with the Bank Holiday fixtures against Wolves and Port Vale also to look forward to, and the Chairman is anticipating another highly-charged month of football.

“It is a great time to be a Miller, the progression of the club this season is there for all too see and the journey isn’t over yet,” he enthused.

“Tonight we travel to Bramall Lane with a sold out away end in excess of 5,000 Rotherham United supporters with the opportunity to extend our marvellous run – I can’t think of a better time to be watching our club during my tenure. My thanks to all our supporters for your backing this season, it means so much to the Board, staff and players of this club.

“It also gives me great pleasure to see our wonderful New York Stadium showcased to a live televised audience this Friday night against Bradford City. If any of our recent meetings with Bradford are replicated on Friday, then the Sky audience and those in New York Stadium are in for a treat.

“Next Wednesday we again host International football in Rotherham, and after last years successful Women’s International at New York, it is another game I am really looking forward to.”

Tickets for Millers’ fans for tonight’s fixture at Bramall Lane are completely sold out, but tickets remain on sale for the game with Bradford City and the under 18s International.
