Gaffer rates midfielder at 50/50...

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans is hopeful that Lee Frecklington could be available for tonight’s South Yorkshire derby against Sheffield United.

Frecklington was withdrawn in the second-half of the seven-goal thriller at the weekend, and having missed only three games this season has been a crucial component in the Millers’ midfield. However, Evans is hopeful that the midfielder will be fit for the game against Nigel Clough’s FA Cup semi-finalists.

“We’re 50/50 on Lee,” Evans told Millers Player. “We had him scanned as we do with every player, I know the sound of that frightens people sometimes but we’re hopeful he could make it.

“With a muscle spasm in your back you don’t tend to do too much for a day or two but we’re monitoring him closely. We’re able to change personnel or shape if we need. On Saturday I think we went 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 3-3-4 and just about everything.”

The Millers, searching for their first win at Bramall Lane since 1980 will go into the game full of confidence after overcoming a similar hoodoo at Gillingham on Saturday, and Evans assured supporters that whilst they went home pleased with victory in Kent, attentions are quickly turned to tonight’s clash.

“The spirit in the camp has been good since the weekend as it has been all season and we might get emotional after the game but we know that when we’re back in training it’s back to business but everyone can be bubbly as long as their attention is on the next game, which is what we’re all about.”
