Wigan Athletic were named the Final Third Development League West Division champions following a 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers.

A first-half goal from Luke Ainscough was enough to give the Latics all three points and secure the title on Tuesday afternoon, and they remain on course for the double
with a Cup Semi-Final against Hartlepool United scheduled for later this month.

Walsall and Wrexham were the two teams chasing Wigan, but both dropped points;Walsall drawing 1-1 at Port Vale and Wrexham quickly falling 3-0 behind at
Shrewsbury Town before eventually losing 5-3.

The Saddlers have now played all of their games and remain in second, three points adrift of Wigan. Wrexham are fourth, with Vale’s point lifting them above the Welsh
club into third.

Oldham Athletic are fifth, despite losing a thrilling contest to Morecambe on Wednesday, 3-2. The Shrimps are sixth, with Shrewsbury seventh and Tranmere in
eighth.

The East Division, already won by Hull City, was brought to a close as Mansfield Town secured a 3-1 win at Hartlepool United on Wednesday night to finish in
second, four points behind the Tigers.

Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers, Hartlepool United and Scunthorpe United make up the rest of the standings.
