Thirty 5-10 year-olds had the sporting day of their lives as they were made to sweat in the sweltering heat of Wickersley.
The group were divided into 4 teams as they contested a series of relays and then competed in a very hard fought football tournament.
"The Ready Steady Sport" Games have proved very popular," said Chantelle Hubbard from the NCS organising group.
"It gave us valuable experience at organising an event and the children a day to remember," she added.
The NCS Group comprise 16-year olds from schools all over Rotherham. Calling themselves “Rother’s Champions Squad”, they are part of this year’s National Citizen Service summer challenge, organised by Rotherham United Community Sports Trust and sponsored by Parkgate Shopping.
The group will attend a celebration of their achievements later in the month.
