Three trialists involved in 3-0 victory...
Manager Steve Evans sent a strong reserve side to take on a Sheffield Wednesday XI at Middlewood Road this afternoon.
The Millers ran out comfortable 3-0 winners courtesy of a brace by Matt Tubbs adding to a strike by Michael Tidser.
Sheffield Wednesday included new signing Roger Johnson, as well as midfielder Seyi Olofinjana, Lewis Buxton and Jacques Maghoma in a strong home side. However, the Millers controlled the game in what Assistant Manager Paul Raynor described as an ‘excellent team performance.’
“It was a good competitive fixture today,” Raynor told www.themillers.co.uk. “It was an excellent team performance played in a good spirit by two equally strong teams. I was pleased to see Matt Tubbs get a couple of goals and he looked like the striker that I know. Pablo (Mills), Tids and young Dan Rowe all put a great shift in too, there were a lot of positives from it all.”
The Millers reserves are back in Central League action this Wednesday, when a young side is expected to travel to face Hull City at North Ferriby United.
