Bell double earns a point...

Rotherham United stretched their unbeaten run to three games against Notts County at the weekend, but will be disappointed not to have come away with maximum points.

With the FA Youth Cup just nine day following, Academy Manager Garreth Barker named a strong side for the game, with the team once again captained by rejuvenated defender Harley Wigley.

Michael Williamson, who had been in fine goalscoring form in recent weeks started in an advanced midfield role, but it was striker Connor Bell who took the plaudits this time out. Bell capitalised on two defensive lapses in the first half to poke home his first and second goals of the season to give the Millers a comfortable lead at the break.

However, within minutes of the second period getting underway, the visitors were level with a close range finish at the far post. The Millers responded well and when Williamson was barged in the back, they were handed a golden chance to regain the two-goal cushion.

However, Reece Lucas, who had previously been on target from the spot against Burton Albion lifted his spot-kick over the bar, a miss that was eventually to prove costly when County levelled in the closing stages.

Millers: Bryan, Lucas (Gibson 53), Warren, Rowe, Wigley, Wiles (Bevins 50), Norfolk, Watson, Bell (65), Williamson, Cadman.
Unused: Fenton, Hallatt.
