Sky Bet League 1 market moves

15 October 2013

Orient leading the way...

Sky Bet League One leaders Leyton Orient continue to defy the odds as they kept ahead of the pack with a come-from-behind win to see off promotion rivals MK Dons.

The O’s began the season as a 33/1 chance to win the title but after their latest triumph their odds have been cut again from 10/1 to 7/1 and from 9/4 to 7/4 to clinch promotion after opening the campaign as an 11/1 chance.

One bright spot for the Dons was another goal from Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford, his tenth in the league. He was 40/1 to finish the season as the top scorer in the division but those odds have already been slashed to 14/1.

Peterborough left it until four minutes from time to inflict defeat on Port Vale and remain just one point off the top. They are in from 9/4 to 15/8 for the title.

But it was not a great day for the chasing pack with Rotherham, Preston and Brentford all on the end of shock results.

The biggest upset came at the New York Stadium where Swindon roared to a 4-0 triumph – an outcome which began the day as an 80/1 shot.

Lowly Crewe had picked up just one point from their first five games on the road but, despite pre-match odds of 28/1, inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Preston - their first home defeat of the season.

Another promotion hopeful, Brentford, took the lead at Stevenage through Clayton Donaldson but two Francois Zoko strikes ended the home side’s run of six league games without a win. A 2-1 home win was ranked as a 12/1 shot.
