Paul Raynor talks to

Assistant manager Paul Raynor will take a reserve team to face a Leeds United Xl today at Thorpe Arch for a behind closed doors fixture.

A mixture of experienced professionals and youth team players will be in the travelling squad with the likes of Michael O Connor, Tom Eaves, Matt Tubbs and Richard Brindley set for some competitive action.

Speaking this morning Raynor told "These closed door matches against quality opposition are just what we need; it helps those players who need the match time and against top players too.

"The Gaffer had to withdraw Michael O'Connor from a recent Northern Ireland squad but he is now fit but obviously needs minutes on the pitch. Young Tom Eaves has been ill with a stomach ulcer but our medical team are on top of that now and he is desperate to play.

"I have also included a few youth team players as we need to know just what they are all about, playing youth team matches is one thing, playing at first-team level is another. The Gaffer thinks very highly of young Danny Rowe and he will get a start today so again we will see where he is in comparison to others."

The match is scheduled for a 1pm kick-off.
