Steve Evans described Rotherham United’s performance as scary and simply stunning after the Millers produced a thrilling display to demolish Gillingham 4-1 at New York Stadium.
A dominant display from start to finish by Millers produced goals from Nouha Dicko, Kieran Agard, Ben Pringle and debutant James Tavernier ensuring a comfortable win and moved the Millers into the League One play-off places.
“We’ve played some good football,” beamed Evans after the game. “It helps when you’ve scored some good goals. We’ve played well and we’re in that evolution but we’ll make ourselves better and we’re still working on some things. Some weeks it will work and some weeks it might not but we were simply stunning in that first half-an-hour, and dear me it was scary how good we were for the level.
“In the second half in spells that continued and whilst it was nearly all about the goals, the passing was excellent and the lads just about played as well as they can.”
