During October half term Rotherham United Community Sports Trust once again ran their Millers Masterclass sessions at 2 different Rotherham Venues.

Both programmes were well attended with around 70 young people accessing our services over the week.

Our sessions at Wickersley School and Sports College once again proved to be our most successful camp with 55 young people coming along to work on their football skills and participate in the fun games that our qualified coaches provide throughout the week.

We also continued to build on our new relationships with local grassroots clubs by hosting a Masterclass in partnership with Treeton terriers, members of their squad along with other young people attended the 2 day course at Treeton Cricket Club.

As a special treat for all the children who attended the camps we arranged for members of the Rotherham United first team to attend the courses in order to sign autographs and answer any questions that the young people had about being a professional footballer.

When asked about these holiday sessions, Sports Development Officer James Rawlinson said “Giving the young people of Rotherham something to do during the school holidays is very important to RUCST and the number of participants we continue to see also shows how important these activities are to local children.

“The young people get the chance to learn more about the game of football in a fun and friendly environment provided by RUCST coaches.”

Rotherham United Community Sports Trust run Masterclasses during every school holiday at various venues, for more information contact James Rawlinson on 07538549061.
