Gaffer delighted with three goal margin...

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans was delighted with the performance that saw Rotherham United collect all three points from a 3-0 victory at Stevenage.

Michael O’Connor sealed all three points after goals from Ben Pringle and Claude Davis either side of half-time, and Evans was pleased with the result although he maintains there was little difference in terms of performance.

“It was a good performance but nothing has changed in terms of league games,” said Evans. “We’ve been playing well even though results haven’t always shown that. Today was a good performance but we have been playing well. We’ve got some good players and now we just need to get into the habit of winning football matches.”

Davis’ goal came early in the second period, and the Jamaican international was given plenty of praise by his manager after spending a number of weeks on the sidelines.

“I thought the big man was brilliant to be fair. We know what Francois Zoko is all about and he’s been on fire. You need to be physical against him and although Claude took 10 minutes or so to settle in and missed a header and a challenge I thought he was immense. The plan was always to play Claude today which is why he didn’t feature against Hartlepool.”
