Mature Millers are holding a launch event on Saturday 18th May, 9am-12pm.
Mature Millers is an independent group, for over 50's, supported by Rotherham United Community Sports Trust. The aims of the group are to increase peoples’ mental and physical health, counteract loneliness, interact with others and most importantly to have fun.The group have completed workshops such as memory of football discussion groups and walking football.
The launch event will include a match of walking football on the pitch at New York Stadium, where the members of the Mature Millers Association will hopefully compete against former Rotherham United legends, subject to their availability (names of players yet to be confirmed). There will also be a tour of the ground and a display of heritage resources such as old photographs, old programmes, old footballs and football boots. Finally, Mature Millers will be running a tombola stall and raffles with lots of prizes to be won!
Everyone is welcome to the Mature Millers launch event however, people just arriving at the stadium will not be allowed straight in, so please ensure that you sign in at the meet and greet table which will be outside the stadium on the walkway between the car park and the reception. This is to enable us to monitor the number of people at the stadium and follow the correct health and safety procedures.
