On 22nd May, Rotherham United ‘A’ team left with a 9-1 victory against Doncaster ‘A’ team after 5 fantastic goals from Hussein Salem.

Rotherham ‘A’ v Doncaster ‘A’

Two minutes into the game Doncaster opened the scoring with a clean finish from five yards out.

The Rotherham lads reacted well to falling behind and it was not long before an equalising goal was scored by Brad Blamires who picked the ball up just under the half way line, beat three defenders and toe poked the ball into the top right corner of the net.

Rotherham then took the lead through a Hussein Salem goal, skipping past two defenders to punt the ball into the goal bringing the score to 2-1.

Salem then scored his second goal of the game by racing down the left, cutting inside and striking across the goal.

Rotherham’s fourth goal was scored by Blamires with a chip over the goal keeper, leaving Rotherham 4-1 up at half time.

Just after half time Salem got his hat-trick following good link up play with Kasey and Brad.

Straight from the kick off Salem won the ball back with hard work; he dribbled the ball past a defender then the goalkeeper and eased the ball into the open goal, putting Rotherham way in the lead, 6-1.

Fantastic link up play through the centre set Hussein up for his 5th and final goal of the game.

A brilliant goal from Joe Briggs was scored when he started the move, receiving the ball from Rotherham’s goal keeper Jay Ford, playing forward and receiving a 1 -2 after sliding the ball into the bottom corner.

The final goal of the game was an excellent flick over the goal keeper from the outside of Blamires’ right foot.

Rotherham ‘B’ v Doncaster ‘B’

Unfortunately Rotherham United B couldn’t replicate the great result of the A team by losing 5 – 0.

With a lack of shape and communication the squad struggling to contain the Doncaster forward which resulted in a staggering defeat to an in-form Doncaster team.
