Four players allowed to leave...
Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has continued discussions with his playing squad and can now confirm that four players have been made available for transfer.Experienced quartet Ian Sharps, Lionel Ainsworth, Nicky Hunt and Kayode Odejayi are all set to enter the final 12 months of their contracts, but have been told by the Millers boss that they are free find a new club.
After the manager held his second and final round of talks with his current squad and identified incoming targets it was decided that they would be given the chance to further their careers elsewhere.
“At this stage of the Summer, we have a job to get us prepared for life in League One,” Evans exclusively told www.themillers.co.uk. “What comes with that are difficult decisions when viewing our squad in its entirety and the options within it. We must consider the targets we’re aiming to recruit and when I looked at the big picture and after much consideration I have decided that the aforementioned players have to be made available for transfer with immediate effect.”
The four players join Danny Schofield who has been available since May 2012.
