Club Statement

15 March 2013

In recent weeks there have been a number of incidents at both home and away games where a small minority of so called supporters have let themselves and the club down.

Last Tuesday night (5/3/13) a flare was set alight at the away game at Oxford United and following this a male was detained and handed over to the Police. He has since been served with a club ban for all Rotherham United home and away games and a Police investigation is underway.

On Saturday a number of missiles were thrown onto the playing surface when Dagenham & Redbridge scored their first goal. Following this a male was ejected from the ground and subsequently handed over to the Police to be arrested. He will also be handed a club ban in the coming days.

Rotherham United will assist South Yorkshire Police in any way possible to seek prosecutions for these offences. Regardless of whether they happen at home or away matches we will take firm action against individuals who behave in such a poor manner and tarnish our good name. CCTV will be monitored over the coming days to establish other offenders and we urge anyone with information to come forward. One young supporter was injured in the North Stand because of these mindless actions.

The club would like to remind supporters with any information on any incidents at Rotherham United matches that they can report this through our anonymous text service:  07507449121 or email

We are working hard to provide the best possible matchday experience and will not let the mindless few ruin it for the majority of well behaved Rotherham United fans who behave impeccably.
