David Worrall talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

New signing David Worrall believes Rotherham United’s upcoming pre-season friendlies are the perfect test ahead of the Millers return to League One.

The 23-year-old winger is one of six new recruits, who reported for the start of pre-season training on Wednesday, and the former West Brom and Bury wide man can’t wait to test his ability against Championship opposition in July.

“The friendlies sound exciting, and I think it will be a good early test for us playing against some high calibre opposition,” Worrall told www.themillers.co.uk

“When I was at West Brom we did the same, we took on tough opposition and I always felt that it was a huge benefit for us in the long term. I think everyone wants to impress in pre-season and show they can compete against quality opposition so it is a good test for us and I’m looking forward to the challenge.

“It is good to be back, I am ready to work hard, I’ve kept in good shape during the close season and I will be preparing for some hard days training as we prepare for the new season.”

The Millers will also be travelling north of the border for a pre-season tour of Scotland (see the link below for ticket details), taking on Greenock Morton, Ayr United and Livingston.

“I am looking forward to the games in Scotland as well, we didn’t get away in my five years with Bury, so a different environment for a week is something I am sure will only aid our preparation,” added Worrall.
