United 4 Communities FC Launch

25 July 2013

Our United 4 Communities evening football activities will be gaining a new exit route for its participants in the forthcoming season.

The Great Millers Youth Forum has decided to launch its own Sunday League u16 team which will take its place in the Sheffield and District Junior Sunday League.

The team is the idea of young people who have taken part in our programme for the past 3 years, many have regular requested competitive football but have been put off from joining established clubs due to a range of economic and social barriers. The team will be train and play at the new training ground in Brinsworth.

Mused Salem Chair of the Great Millers Youth Forum commented “The team is a real step forward for the young people accessing our provision; it will be great to be involved in a diverse team which reflects our work in Rotherham.

“We will obviously be starting very small but hoping to develop the club year on year.”

There are still a limited number of squad places available for the team at u16 level.
