Last Chance to Book for Summer NCS!

3 July 2013

Sponsored by

It’s not too late to sign up for this summer's NCS project and it is set to be the biggest yet! Don't miss out on this creative summer opportunity.

NCS is a programme for Year 11 and 12 students (or equivalent age). It gives young people the chance to undertake exciting and challenging activities including archery, kayaking, caving and gorge walking. Participants will also get the chance to meet new people and learn new skills, whilst also having the opportunity to design a project that will help their community and above all, have fun!

Over the past couple of years, the Trust has sent lots of young people on residentials for the NCS, many of whom have continued to work with the trust on other projects. It is an unforgettable experience and you don’t want to miss out!

This year, the NCS project will start on 5th August 2013. The cost of this fantastic opportunity is only £50!! (Financial support to cover the cost may be available if required).

The programmes will last three weeks, engaging the participants in outdoor adventure activities to skill learning techniques.

Not only will you have great fun and meet new people, the NCS gives young people the opportunity to get ahead by having fresh experiences and learning new skills that are valuable to employers and further education organisations, such as leadership and team building.

Alex Revell is the new Education Ambassador for RUCST, he said “I was really lucky that when I left school I began playing football & managed to become a professional player, but for some young people it’s not so easy.

“The trust work with young people who have left school, but aren’t in work or training, giving them skills and experience in sports coaching. There have been some young people who have become great coaches & I hope it can continue.”
