RUCST are now running girls only Masterclasses after a very successful debut in May this year.
During the May half term RUCST ran the first ever Girls Only Football Camp funded by The Co-operative Membership Community Fund at Outo Kumpu Training Ground, Brinsworth. 30 girls attended and really enjoyed it despite bad weather.Girls’ coordinator, Mark Kirby who led the first ever girls’ camp said “For the first experience of a girls only camp it was great to see so many girls attending.
“Following the success of the camp, I am hoping to arrange more summer camps as well as after school clubs in the near future.”
Sports Development officer James Rawlinson said “After a successful girls camp working alongside The Co-operative Membership Community Fund, we are hoping this is the start of something new and that we can develop our work with girls further.”
We also had great feedback from parents such as “I am writing to thank Coach Kirby, Coach Nightingale, Abbi, & Alex for their hard work last week at the Rotherham Community Sport for Girls both my daughters attended and they had the best time.”
Due to its success, the Trust is running girls only Masterclasses this summer holidays at Outo Kumpu, which will give girls the chance to take part in a range of drills and skills to build their knowledge of the game.
The first summer girls Masterclass is this week, Monday 29th July – Friday 2nd August at Outo Kumpu and it’s not too late to come down and take part! The cost will be £10 per day and the camp runs from 10.00am-3.00pm each day.
There is also another girls only camp running from Tuesday 27th – Friday 30th August and the cost will be £10 per day or £30 for the week. It will take place at Outo Kumpu Sports Ground (Bawtry Road).
