Millers boss unhappy with performance...

Rotherham United described his side’s performance as ‘poor,’ as they slipped to a fourth home defeat in five games. The Millers, who went into the game in the automatic promotion places went down 2-0 to Edgar Davids’ Barnet, thanks to goals from Jake Hyde and substitute Andy Yiadom.

“The first 15 minutes was bright, it looked good, but we conceded a goal and it was a defensive calamity wasn’t it with Johnny Mullins and Andy Warrington,” said Evans. To be fair he’s (Warrington) atoned for that, and made some good saves later in the game, and Barnet did what they did at Gillingham a few weeks ago. But we were poor today.”

The Millers pushed for an equaliser immediately and thought they had one when a header bounced down on the line; however, it wasn't to be and Evans concedes that his team weren’t at the races.

“We missed a number of half-chances, and I think we scored a goal. Then they’ve had no more than four shots in the second-half. We’ve had a lot of possession but were very poor after the first 20 minutes. We said it would be difficult against a reviving Barnet side, and you look at the results today at the top of the league and can see it’s very tough.

“We’ll be back on the training ground tomorrow and there’s no alternative but to work hard. I can only apologise to the supporters who will go home disappointed, but no more disappointed than the manager tonight,” added the Millers boss.
