Scots Guards return to New York

24 January 2013

Rotherham United welcome back the Scots Guards for their home game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The troop, who played at the inaugural league game at New York Stadium, return to the venue following Burns Night, which they will celebrate by playing elsewhere in Rotherham at Magna.

They will play prior to kick-off as part of our pre-match entertainment, and there will be a collection for the band and for the charity PHASE.

A spokesperson for the club said: “We’re delighted that we’re going to have the Scots Guards to play at New York. We all remember the part they played on that momentous day back in August, and I’m sure they could be heard around Rotherham. A number of Army Cadets will also be holding a collection at half-time and we’d like as many people as possible to contribute to this excellent cause.”
