Ben Pringle signs a new contract with Rotherham United...

Ben Pringle has signed a two-and-a-half year extended deal with Rotherham United.

The midfielder put pen-to-paper this afternoon at club headquarters to commit his future to the club.

Signed from Derby County in June 2011, Pringle has played a major role in Steve Evans’ engine room this season, making 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals.

“The Gaffer has spoken to me over the last few weeks saying there was interested clubs, but at the same time maintained he wanted me to sign an extended contract and be part of what this club is trying to achieve, not only this season but over the next few years,” Pringle told www.themillers.co.uk

After Pringle signed on the dotted line, boss Steve Evans added:

“I am delighted that Ben has committed his future to Rotherham United. The situation with Ben came to a head when we received two good offers for him in the last week but my Chairman Tony Stewart has stayed true to his word and turned them down whilst at the same time appreciating the fact we could have lost a player in May for nothing,” he told www.themillers.co.uk

“When I arrived at the club Ben wasn’t a regular in the side but I could see he was a talented individual with plenty to offer, and he quickly became one of the first names on my team sheet.

“He is still young, has plenty to learn but I firmly believe that he has the ability and desire to become a Championship player, and I want that to be with Rotherham United.

“He amongst a number of our squad is a key player and this is great business for the Millers.”
