Mused Salem has been selected as the 2013 Apprentice in association with Parkgate.

Mused Salem has been selected as the 2013 Apprentice in association with Parkgate. Mused organised and took part in evening football sessions that managed to engage over 60 young people at the start of the apprentice programme.

Mused, along with 5 other young people, then undertook an Introduction to Sports Coaching Course with Rotherham United where they were continually assessed and put through a vigorous selection process.

Mused said: “It feels great to win this award. I started doing this because I just wanted to help young people, like myself, in my town. I wasn’t in it to win awards, but now that I have, I feel really privileged. I would really like to thank Parkgate and the RUCST for giving me the opportunity to become an apprentice.”

Mark Cummins, Cohesion Officer at RUCST, commented: “It was clear from the start that Mused was an outstanding candidate. He has already made great strides and we hope that this is the start of a long association with the Trust. Parkgate has been fantastic and it is wonderful to see young people being given such unique employment opportunities”
