Millers loanee jumped at the chance to join Millers...

New Millers signing Adam Morgan has described his decision to join Rotherham United as a “no-brainer” following the completion his loan move from Liverpool.

Morgan, who joined his teammates for the first time this morning ahead of the  trip to Hampshire is hoping that the switch can benefit himself and his new club.

“It came around quite quick,” said Morgan. “I trained with Liverpool yesterday and was told then I’d be coming on loan if I wanted to. It’s hard to turn down when a club shows interest in you; I looked it up, saw the new stadium and saw the good reputation of the manager and it was a no-brainer for me to come, play some football and hopefully push Rotherham further into the promotion places.”

The 18 year-old striker has featured three times for Liverpool’s first-team this season with all those games coming in the Europa League, twice against Hearts and once when he led the line for the Reds against Anzhi Makhachkala in Moscow, but still sees the move as progression.

“I don’t look at the step down the leagues, it’s about me getting the experience, getting some games and help out Rotherham which I’m eager to do. Now I’m just looking forward to meeting the lads. It’s a really lovely stadium. I looked at it on the internet last night and now I’m really looking forward to playing here a week on Saturday. Anfield is great, but now I know I’ve got to do well here to get the chance again at Anfield. “

The youngster has received high-praise from a number of his seniors at Anfield, and will be looking to get amongst the goals whilst with the Millers, despite playing more recently in a wide position.

“I see myself as a goalscorer, I like to be in and around the box, so I feel my best position is through the middle but I’ll play anywhere as long as I’m playing. I’ve played a lot on the right for Liverpool this year but I’m just happy to play and I’ll work hard regardless which I think is one of the things the manager here liked about me.”
