Millers boss pleased with victory...

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has praised his side after a third win in four games, this time at the expense of Bristol Rovers.

The Millers made the trip to the South West for the second successive Tuesday and again came away with all three points. Lee Frecklington netted for the Millers after Kayode Odejayi had opened the scoring.

“It feels good,” said Evans. “It was a hard fought win that’s for sure. We started the game well, and I thought for 25 minutes we were the only team in the game. They came into it just before half-time, but second-half I thought we were dominating. To be fair, they’re a good side but we got two goals, and except for the goal that they guy got, they haven’t had a chance, and that’s a team who has won six of their last seven games. It’s a big win, but it’s no more than three points, just like Chesterfield.”

Daniel Kearns was withdrawn at half-time with a slight niggle, whilst Daniel Nardiello travelled with the side but didn’t make the squad.

“He (Kearns) was feeling his hamstring a bit so we’ll have to reassess it tomorrow to see whether it’s three or four weeks or just seven to 10 days. We certainly hope it’s just a matter of days but we’ll find that out tomorrow. He (Nardiello) trained yesterday and he was just feeling his groin a bit, but we can’t take chances. He said he was feeling his groin but when Frecklington put the second one in, he ran past me!”
